Our Story

ledger posia was established in 2018 by a group of experienced accounting professionals who recognized a gap in practical accounting education in Singapore. While many institutions offered theoretical accounting courses, few provided the hands-on software training and real-world application skills that employers actually sought in bookkeeping and accounting clerk candidates.

Our founders brought together decades of combined experience from Singapore's accounting firms, corporate finance departments, and small business accounting practices. They understood that effective accounting education required more than textbook knowledge – it needed practical software proficiency, understanding of local regulations, and the ability to handle actual business transactions with accuracy and confidence.

Since our inception, we have trained over 800 students in QuickBooks, Xero, payroll administration, and fundamental accounting principles. Our graduates work in accounting departments across Singapore's diverse business sectors, from local SMEs to multinational corporations. Many have advanced from entry-level positions to supervisory roles, attributing their career progression to the solid foundation they built through our courses.

We maintain small class sizes to ensure personalized instruction and adequate practice time with accounting software. Our instructors work as practicing accountants and bookkeepers, bringing current industry insights to every session. This combination of practical experience and teaching expertise creates a learning environment where students develop both technical skills and professional judgment.

ledger posia continues to evolve our curriculum to reflect changes in accounting software, Singapore regulations, and industry practices. We regularly consult with local accounting firms and corporate accounting departments to ensure our courses remain relevant to current employer needs. This commitment to staying current helps our students enter the workforce with skills that employers value immediately.

Quality Standards and Teaching Approach

ledger posia maintains rigorous quality standards in all aspects of course delivery. Our curriculum undergoes annual review to incorporate changes in accounting software, Singapore regulations, and industry practices. We consult with local accounting professionals and employers to ensure our course content aligns with current workplace requirements and prepares students for actual job responsibilities.

Each course includes structured progression from foundational concepts to advanced applications. We begin with underlying principles before introducing software operations, ensuring students understand why processes exist before learning how to execute them. This approach builds comprehension rather than just mechanical software operation, enabling students to adapt as systems and procedures evolve.

Our teaching methodology emphasizes hands-on practice with accounting software and realistic business scenarios. Students work through complete accounting cycles, handling various transaction types and learning to troubleshoot common issues. We provide practice files that simulate actual business records, giving students experience with the complexity and volume of transactions they will encounter professionally.

Class sizes are intentionally limited to allow individualized attention and adequate software practice time. Instructors monitor each student's progress and provide targeted guidance based on individual learning needs. This personalized approach helps students build confidence and competence at their own pace while meeting course learning objectives.

We maintain updated versions of QuickBooks, Xero, and payroll software in our training environment. Students practice with the same software versions they will encounter in professional settings. Course materials include comprehensive reference guides, example documents, and templates that students can use as resources when they begin working in accounting roles.

Professional Expertise and Industry Knowledge

ledger posia's instructional team maintains active involvement in Singapore's accounting sector, ensuring our teaching reflects current professional practices. Our instructors continue working as practicing accountants, bookkeepers, and payroll administrators, bringing fresh insights from their daily professional activities into the classroom. This ongoing practical experience helps us teach relevant skills that employers value and that students can apply immediately upon entering the workforce.

We understand the specific challenges that bookkeeping and accounting clerk positions present in different business contexts. Our instructors have worked with sole proprietorships, partnerships, private limited companies, and branches of foreign corporations. This diverse experience enables us to prepare students for the variety of organizational structures and accounting requirements they may encounter professionally.

Singapore's regulatory environment for accounting and payroll requires specific knowledge of CPF regulations, IRAS procedures, MOM requirements, and ACRA filing obligations. Our courses address these local compliance requirements comprehensively. Students learn not just what procedures to follow, but why regulations exist and how to maintain compliance as rules evolve. This understanding helps them adapt to regulatory changes they will encounter throughout their careers.

Software proficiency forms a core component of modern accounting work. We teach both QuickBooks and Xero because different organizations prefer different platforms. Students who understand both systems demonstrate versatility to potential employers and can transition between platforms more easily. Our instruction covers not just basic operations but also advanced features, integration with other business systems, and troubleshooting common issues.

The accounting field continues evolving with technological advancement and changing regulatory requirements. We emphasize developing learning skills alongside technical knowledge. Students who understand accounting principles and regulatory frameworks can adapt to new software, updated procedures, and emerging best practices throughout their careers. This adaptability serves them well in Singapore's dynamic business environment.

Our connection to Singapore's accounting community helps us understand current hiring practices and employer expectations. We incorporate feedback from accounting firms and corporate finance departments into our curriculum development. This industry input ensures we teach skills that employers actually seek when hiring bookkeeping and accounting clerk candidates, improving our graduates' employment prospects.
